D.E.C., Davide Edoardo Cassano, is a young Italian illustrator and illustrator born in Turin in 1993 and who lives in Marsciano in the province of Perugia. His dreamlike and surreal designs, all characterized by an almost obsessive attention to detail, are spontaneous creations of his imagination, which unconsciously collects the raw material of unexpressed emotions and thoughts and molds it to his own will in images and stories. Each work hides a message, hides a particular emotional or existential situation, codifies a certain meaning or more meanings that are often unknown to the author himself during the creative act and that are revealed only when the drawing is finished showing parts of his unconscious until now ignored or misunderstood by him. A bit like what happens in dreams, spontaneous and sincere creations of the mind, free from filters and inhibitions of consciousness, which through a correct analysis and careful reflection bring to light things about ourselves that we know, but at the same time " we don't know we know ". When DEC it produces a new design, it is like finding a small piece of a big puzzle, which is added to the other pieces, which at the beginning are scattered and messy, but over time they seem to acquire their own logic and order, so that they can be put together and assemble to form a precise image. The image of himself, naked and raw, essential, true. Drawing for him is not a passion, but a real need.
